One-time opportunities


Sound the Alarm 

When: Saturday, January 26th | 7:30am-12:30pm 

Where: Pomona through American Red Cross 

Volunteers needed: Up to 30 

Description: Students will help teach fire safety to Pomona residents and install fire alarms in resident's homes. Sound the Alarm is an event where volunteers install free smoke alarms and educate residence about home fire safety. Volunteers receive breakfast, lunch and a t-shirt.

Possible volunteer positions include:

Installer: Must be 18+, installs smoke alarms in peoples home. All training is provided on the day of the event.

Educator: Helps educate the resident on home fire and earthquake safety. All training is provided on the day of the event.

Documenter: Documents the information from the household, such as name, number of alarms installed, etc. All training is provided on the day of the event.

*Volunteers will be placed in teams of three or four. We try to keep groups together but there is no guarantee. 



Ten Thousand Villages Rug Event 

When: Sunday, January 27th | 3:00pm-8:00pm 

Where: Pasadena 

Volunteers needed: 10-12 volunteers

Description: Students will be helping move some giant rugs into the store. We will do a prayer walk in the city before and then meet with Ten Thousand Villages to talk about their mission and why they do what they do.
